R. Stephen Lynch, Founder and President

R. Stephen Lynch stands at the forefront of waste management, recycling, and diversion consulting. As the Founder and President of RS LYNCH & COMPANY, INC., Mr. Lynch brings unparalleled expertise. Before establishing our firm, he served as the First Vice President and National Waste Management Director for a leading U.S. investment banking firm, where he was instrumental in managing over $8 billion in global waste and recycling projects.

Educational Excellence

Mr. Lynch earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from Bowdoin College, graduating from Magna Cum Laude. His academic accolades include being a Rhodes Scholar Nominee, a James Bowdoin Scholar, and a Surdna Foundation Fellowship Prize recipient. He furthered his education with an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School and completed a General Course in Economics at the London School of Economics.

Recognized Achievements

Mr. Lynch has been honored with a Certificate for Excellence in Project Finance from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development. His expertise extends to academia, as he has served as a guest lecturer on Environmental Economics at Cornell University and Bowdoin College.

Professional Engagement

His professional contributions are further demonstrated through his service on the Board of Directors for the Dutchess County, NY, Resource Recovery Agency and his ongoing role with the U.S. Waste-To-Energy Association. Mr. Lynch's extensive experience and commitment to excellence make him a pivotal leader in advancing sustainable waste management practices.

Caroline AB Lynch, Vice President

Caroline Lynch Cranford, Vice President, R.S. Lynch & Company, Inc.

Caroline brings over six years of progressive responsibility as a financial and accounting professional serving multiple industries. As an expert spreadsheet designer, she creates custom financial models to plan and forecast business performance for a range of organizations. Caroline currently supports the Eastern Connecticut Resource Recovery Authority (ECRRA) – a municipally owned waste-to-energy facility owner where she is responsible for overall financial management and reporting of the enterprise.

Caroline graduated Cum Laude from the American University with a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2018. She has experience from J.P. Morgan, Bloomberg, and AgReserves, Inc., and serves as the Vice President of R.S. Lynch & Company, Inc.

Jerry Leone: Founder and President of J&L Consulting

Jerry Leone, the founder and president of J&L Consulting, brings over 35 years of extensive experience in waste management, recycling, renewable energy, and sustainability. As the chairman of the Town of Perinton’s Sustainability Advisory Board, he plays a pivotal role in advancing local sustainability initiatives.

Global Impact on the United Nations

Jerry has contributed to the United Nations' global disaster relief and peacekeeping missions in the past seven years. His responsibilities include conducting solid waste management audits and inspections of UN mission camps worldwide. He evaluates environmental conditions, troubleshoots equipment, provides training, and develops technical guidance documents and feasibility studies to enhance environmental and sustainability performance.

Leadership in Renewable Energy

Jerry currently serves as a Senior Project Engineer at New Leaf Energy, where he supports the development of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects across New York State. He manages external vendors, oversees permitting processes, and coordinates local, state, and federal engineering and environmental studies.

Previous Experience

Jerry’s career includes significant roles at LaBella Associates as a Permitting and Compliance Program Manager, where he managed diverse projects in the solid waste, solar, wind, and hydroelectric sectors. His responsibilities included land lease agreements, permitting, public affairs, regulatory coordination, and budget and project scheduling oversight. His prior experience with Casella Waste Systems and Waste Management spans nearly 28 years, during which he managed the engineering, permitting, and construction of numerous landfills, transfer stations, recycling centers, and energy projects across the U.S.

Academic and Patent Contributions

Jerry holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Buffalo and three U.S. patents related to solid and hazardous waste management. His innovative contributions and extensive expertise underscore his commitment to advancing sustainability and efficiency in the waste management industry.
